Update "One Sky for All"

Update

This update brings crossplay between PC and PlayStation 5, three new DLC aircraft, and a wide range of gameplay, controls, and interface improvements. Details below!

All platforms

Crossplay

  • Players on PC and PlayStation 5 now share the same battles and matchmaking queues by default. PS5 players can opt out in settings.

New Content

  • Three new aircraft available as separate DLC packs: Ju 87 D-5, I-16 type 27 and Bf 109 Z-1 Zwilling.
  • Two new single-player missions: Zero Fuel and Convoy Hunter.
  • The Khalkhin gol operation can now be encountered in general matchmaking for USSR vs Japan
  • The Tunisia operation may now appear in general matchmaking for Germany vs. USA.
  • The Pas-de-Calais operation has been added to general matchmaking for WWI.
  • A Pas-de-Calais mission for WWI aircraft has been added to Team Death Match.
  • New missions have been added to Custom battles: Tunisia and Khalkhin Gol.
  • Pas-de-Calais location has been added to the mission editor for WWI aircraft.

Gameplay

  • The accuracy of AI aircraft turrets has been adjusted.
  • Fixed bots behavior in Air Domination missions.
  • In multiplayer missions ground units now react to destroyed bridges: units too close to a destroyed bridge are destroyed, units nearby stop moving.
  • Fixed score not being awarded for some battle actions.

Progression and unlocks

  • Specific unlock conditions for skins are now displayed clearly in the UI.
  • Fixed one single-player mission counting as several battles in the leaderboard.

Controls

  • New auxiliary actions can now be bound in control settings: toggles for the collimator sight and cockpit lights, and separate actions to open and close the canopy.
  • Fixed the loss of spatial control when opening the Multi-Function Menu: spatial inputs are no longer affected by other bindings or by the menu.
  • Fixed a bug that might occasionally prevent changing an input binding.
  • Fixed a bug where some gameplay actions could happen while binding controls in battle (e.g. camera zoom-out or throttle changes).

Missions and Mission Editor

  • Added allied and enemy aircraft selection and their number to the Mission editor.
  • Fixed missing bombing and assault missions in the Mission editor.
  • Replaced the Tu-4 with the Yak-3 and La-5 in the USSR test flight for historical accuracy.

Interface

  • Added a player card with brief player statistics and all contact actions. Contact actions have moved here, while the contacts menu keeps the basic actions for each group and invitation handling.
  • Added the ability to search for players by nickname globally, without having to enter a battle together first. Local contacts are searched first and shown immediately. Group search has been added as well.
  • The interface options layout has been improved: settings for altitude and speed source data are now in a separate section above the measurement units.
  • Spawn point icons on the map are now easier to notice.
  • Fixed the map disappearing in the lobby after changing the mission.
  • Fixed the inability to change team in a Custom Battle that is already in progress.
  • Fixed the inability to select the opposite team's country in the Custom Battles lobby.
  • Fixed a bug in the kill log which caused bot names to be missing under some circumstances.
  • Fixed the QR code (Support) window not closing in the respawn menu, and some cases where it could not be closed with conventional gamepad buttons.
  • When using a controller to navigate side tabs in menus, the selection no longer jumps to the menu on the left on up/down movements.
  • UI navigation hints for xinput-compatible devices are now shown and hidden properly. Previously they were hidden when the cursor was over the menu panel even if navigation with a connected device was available.
  • Some localization strings have been updated in a number of languages.

VR

  • Default head positions were adjusted to be more realistic and comfortable for the Bf 110 G-2, Hurricane Mk.IV, Typhoon Mk.Ib, SBD-3, Spitfire Mk.I, Yak-3, Yak-9T, IL-2M 1943, P-40, Fokker Dr.I , Bf-109 F-4, Bf-109 G-2 and FW-190 A-4.
  • Restored the missing gear indicator hint on the Bf 110 G-2.

PlayStation 5

  • The Contacts menu tab is now available.
  • Crossplay settings are now available in the Options tab: PS5 players can chose not to participate in battles with PC players and to only see leaderboards for PS5 specifically.
